BIG 5
Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 8:43AM Both Louise and I are turning 50 in January.
I'm not looking forward to it; for a number of reasons. First age I really throught about. It will come though, and the next day will happen, so no sense being worried. One big thing is planning for the future, 60 is only a short time away when thinking of retiring and finances. Louise and I are big planners, so my focus this year will help.
I've been doing some Robin Sharma reading and listening. One of his big ideas is having 5 accomplishments for the year, so you can look back on the year and say, "Wow, what a great year.
He also states the same for life goals, so you can say "Wow, what a life.", but I'll leave that for later.
My BIG 5 for this year (besides the trip to Africa, which Louise and I have basically known for six years) are:
Aboretum at the cottage - in 2012 do 2 planting/tree areas and one complete path
10 year vision - Where do I want to be at 60, retired/consulting/etc.
10K at the PEI marathon - This October; I better start running
Finanial plan - Do up a current financial plan with an expert
Library - change a bedroom to a library (i.e. woodworking project); I'm using it basically already with temporary bookcases and a small TV, and the ideas are starting to get sorted out in my head
So, I'll be 50 in a few days (24th) and no worse the wear, so here's to 2012 and 50 and playing at WOW.
